Why Mime?

Mime taps into the imagination in ways that other forms of theater can only attempt to do. We ask the audience to be active participants in the story and that makes them so much more invested.

How did you find Broken Box Mime Theater?

I went to Tufts with our Artistic Director and founder, Becky Baumwoll. I remember talking to Becky at a cafe about her idea to start a mime company in NYC. When it became a reality I knew I had to audition for it!

What is your favorite thing about mime?

I love the range of characters we get to play. The mask allows us to transform as performers in a way that's really difficult in traditional theater. In mime, we get to fly, be underwater, be robots and samurai warriors. The possibilities are endless.
