BKBXKids! Presents: Destination: Everywhere

Praise for Destination: Everywhere!

“Our students were so engaged and awed by your performances! I know that this is going to be something they remember for a long time!”

Dara Coppolone, Music Teacher

“For the entire hour all of the kids were spellbound. There was not one behavioral problem during the show. This is something I have never seen before in my 7 years as an educator…

Since the show, the classrooms have been able to incorporate themes of how we communicate without using words into their daily routines, and have also used mime as a jumping off point for storytelling.”

Elizabeth Hartline, Education Director Bank Street Head Start

The Show

Broken Box Mime Theater (BKBX) celebrates storytelling beyond words with Destination: Everywhere. Set to contemporary music and guided by a speaking emcee, this hour-long collection of stories includes a tale of unlikely friendship with a giant, the multitasking troubles of a superhero on date night, and an intergalactic odyssey that won’t be complete without the audience’s help.

After the performance, families learn how to mime in a mini-mime workshop with the cast! Destination: Everywhere is a production of BKBXKids!the family programming wing of BKBX.

We’re excited to be bringing the show on a Midwest Mini-tour!! Click our destinations below for more details about how to blast off EVERYWHERE!

With a special Relaxed Performance on Saturday, April 14th!

Destination: Everywhere runs Saturdays through April at the Peoples Improv Theater; it is written for ages 3-8 and their families. Though the show is always sensory-friendly and noise is okay in our theater, we will be increasing accessibility on Saturday, April 14th by adding: additional trained house staff, a reserved quiet space in the lobby for breaks, and an option to meet the performers in advance of the show. A visual story” social narrative is available here for download! (Large Text Version) For those who would like to request a meet and greet with the cast prior to the show, or have any other questions for us, please email brokenboxmime@gmail.com. As always, no one is turned away for lack of funds.
